INGREDIENTS
6 tbsps butter
3 tbsps balsamic vinegar
½ cup (180g, 6oz) honey
½ bunch fresh thyme, leaves picked
Salt and pepper to taste
2 red onions, halved
2 brown onions, halved
METHOD
Preheat air fryer to 160°C (320°F).
Combine butter, vinegar, honey, thyme, salt and pepper in a small saucepan over medium heat. Bring to a simmer and cook for 1 minute to reduce slightly.
Place the onions cut-sides up in a single layer in the air fryer basket. You can use a cake tin to reduce mess.
Drizzle the butter-vinegar mixture over the onions and cook for about 35 minutes, until soft and slightly caramelised.
