INGREDIENTS
3 tbsps butter, melted
1 cup (250ml, 8fl oz) milk
2¼ tsps yeast
1 egg
3 cups (375g, 13oz) flour
½ cup (110g, 4oz) + ¼ cup (55g, 2oz) sugar
½ tsp salt
Cooking spray
1 tbsp cinnamon
METHOD
Heat melted butter and milk in a pan until lukewarm. Sprinkle yeast over liquid and let sit for 5 minutes until foamy. Add egg and beat with a fork.
Add flour, 1/2 cup sugar and salt to a large bowl. Add liquid and mix until a dough forms. Cover and put in a warm place for 1 hour until doubled in size. Punch down dough and then let rise again in a warm place for 45 minutes.
Turn dough onto a lightly floured surface and cut into 16 pieces.
Roll each piece into a long strip then fold in half and twist two halves together. Pinch ends together.
Working in batches transfer to air fryer and spray with cooking spray. Cook for 4‑5 minutes at 180°C (350°F).
Combine cinnamon and remaining sugar in a shallow dish. Use tongs to dip hot doughnuts into cinnamon sugar to serve.
